In this study, we are interested in how children learn to process questions. Many studies have shown that when adults start to hear a question, they make predictions about what the rest of the question will be. This study investigates what age children show the same behavior by tracking where children look while they hear a question. This study is an eye-tracking study, meaning we place a small sticker on the child’s forehead that allows our eye tracker to track exactly where the child is looking. Children will watch short videos containing three objects (for example, a bottle, spoon, and brush). After watching the video, the three objects will appear on screen while the child hears a question about the video. The eye tracker will track which of the objects the child looks at over the course of the question.
