Victoria Mateu, Ph.D.
Hi, my name is Victoria. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Linguistics with a specialization in Language Acquisition (UCLA, 2016). My main areas of research are word segmentation in infants and grammatical development in 2-6 year-olds. I am especially interested in investigating what cross-linguistic differences in language development can tell us about those specific languages and Human Language in general. Besides managing the UCLA Language Lab, I am also a lecturer for the UCLA Department of Linguistics. In my off-time, I enjoy hiking, eating out and trying new cuisines, (binge) watching TV-shows, and when time allows it, scuba diving, and traveling!
